What is Google+?

Unless you have been marooned on an internet-less island, chances are you have heard of Google+. It is Google’s attempt to foray into the social space by “making sharing online more like sharing in real life”. After a string of failed social products like Buzz and Wave failed to, Google seems to have come up with a winner in Google+. Though not an immediate threat to Facebook, it does show potential by means of some fantastic features.

So what could Google+ possibly offer that we haven’t already seen in Facebook, Twitter or any other networking site? The coolest thing about Google+ is its potential to create a real-life social experience on web. With features named so, like Hangouts, Circles etc, Google+ attempts to be a spill-over of real social life onto the web.

Residency violator will be arrested while seeking medical help

Ministry of Interior sought the help of MoH to arrest expatriates without proper residency permit, in case they avail any medical help in countries hospital or clinic, reports Arabic daily.

Daily, quoting official sources, reported that a circular in this regard has been issued to all hospitals and clinics as part of the continuing effort to deport all expatriates staying illegally in the country.

After the end of four month long amnesty period, ministry had intensified its efforts to arrest these expatriate who are still staying here without proper document.

Kuwait to be strict on implementing Kuwaitization policy in public sector

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has made it mandatory for all government authorities to abide by the new Kuwaiti-expatriate employment ratio, reports local daily. In order to create public sector job opportunities for Kuwaitis, the new Kuwaiti-expatriate employment ratio increase the percentage of Kuwaitis working in the public sector to 90 per cent of the total workforce, with only 10 per cent of expatriate employees allowed.

Local daily reports that CSC has rejected requests from some public sector bodies with separate budgets to be exempted from the new regulations. These authorities which requested the exemptions include Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), Kuwait Airways Corporation (KPC), Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), Public Authority for Social Security (PASS), Kuwait University (KU) and Public Investment Authority (PIA).

Doha Entertainment city promotions

TEC offer reduced ticket to Entertainment City for a limited period during the holy month of Ramadan.

“Visitors can enjoy special prices on entrance tickets which will be sold for KD1 only instead of the usual KD3.5 from the first to the twenty-fifth of August,” Touristic Enterprise Company’s (TEC) operations and activities manager, Anwar Al-Nisf said.

Al-Nisf also announced that the Entertainment City will host the annual ‘Gergean’ traditional festival on August 12 and 13, during which children in traditional Kuwaiti costume will be granted free admission. During the month of Ramadan, the Entertainment Center complex will be open from 8:30 pm until 2:00 am between Monday and Saturday, and closed on Sundays to allow staff to have a day off. On Mondays, the complex will be open exclusively to female visitors.

Kuwait airport bans smoking

The assistant undersecretary for External affairs Major General Anwar Al-Yassein has announced a decision banning smoking at public utilities in Kuwait International Airport, reports local daily.

Parliamentarian Dr Yusef Zalzala has commended the decision. MP stressed that non compliance of the law by officials- especially security and customs officials at the airport encourages ordinary individual to violate the law

Seven people were referred to the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station for violating no smoking ban inside the Kuwait International Airport. They were caught red-handed inside the ‘Arrival’ lounge at the airport during a surprise inspection campaign, reports local daily.
