It seems that there is going to be a finger printing excercise for all those who are going to be in Kuwait. See this news article from Al Watan daily.
In an unprecedented move, the Interior Ministry, represented by the Immigration Department, has issued a decision that it will begin registering the fingerprints of wives and adult children sponsored by their husbands or fathers as of the beginning of next week.
A reliable source informed Al Watan that the new procedure is being instituted as a precautionary security measure as part of a longـterm security scheme to register the fingerprints of any foreigner who enters the country. The new decision will be circulated amongst all the immigration and residency bureaus in all governorates.
The source said that the decision will be applied to wives and children who enter the country for the first time or those whose residencies have expired or been cancelled and wish to return to Kuwait once again. He added that the decision will also be applied to foreign women married to Kuwaiti men. He noted that the fingerprints will be taken at the Civil Identification Department, adding that no residencies will be stamped without first taking fingerprints.
Is it really required?
