A group for the Indians in Kuwait in KuwaitStay
An extract from the Indian Embassy website about the community of "Indians in Kuwait"
According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, there are 579,058 Indians as on July 1, 2008, who constitute the largest expatriate community in Kuwait. The Indian community is regarded by the Kuwaitis as the community of first preference among the expatriates in Kuwait. Kuwait views India as a fast growing economy and a source of highly qualified professional and technical personnel.
Professionals like engineers, doctors, chartered accountants, scientists, software experts, management consultants, architects, skilled workers like technicians and nurses, semi-skilled workers, retail traders and businessmen mainly constitute the Indian community. A large proportion of the Indian expatriates are also unskilled and semi-skilled workers.
Of late, there has been an increase in the number of highly qualified Indian experts in hi-tech areas, especially in the software and financial sector in Kuwait. In the field of health, India not only supplies top specialists but also para-medical staff who enjoy a high reputation.
Inward remittances from Kuwait to India are substantial.
The MoU on Labour, Employment and Manpower Development signed in April 2007 entered into force with effect from October 18, 2007.
There are 17 Indian Schools in Kuwait affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
There were 164 Indian community Associations earlier registered with this Embassy. Following introduction of a re-registration requirement, 106 of these Indian community Associations have once again registered with the Embassy and the number of registered Associations is growing at a steady pace.

Jobs in Kuwait for Indians
I always use to get queries from friends and relatives from India asking which are the best jobs in Kuwait for Indians. Being an IT guy, I always refer that there are good jobs and my most references are about IT Jobs. I tell them to learn IT Networking like CCNA, CCNP or CCIE and/or system administration such as Linux, UNIX, MCSE etc...I also suggest that they can learn some software packages as well.
Other than IT, I have seen a growing demand in the Banking and financial jobs in Kuwait where the back office functions are either supported or run mostly by expats especially by Indians.
Other than IT and Banking jobs, there is a large need for people in the trading business such as shop attendants, cashiers, supervisors etc..
Then there are jobs available in construction field, hotel and hospitality industries.
Oil companies and their contractors are another place where you will find a lot of interesting jobs in Kuwait for Indians
